The Gathering Storm, and Towers of Midnight are written in a setting much like RJ's Wheel of Time, with a couple of characters who are vaguely reminiscent of WoT characters. While not nearly of the level of quality of WoT or NotW, the similarities make for a pleasant reminder of an excellent series, cut short too soon.
