We've already got all of those (apart from the mobile), and the high-contrast book is surprisingly fascinating for her. (We got it free from a pregnancy & baby support club over here.)

The concept makes sense, actually. Evelyn's always been fascinated by highly contrasting things. She stared at the part of her pram canopy where the black outer meets the white inner from the very beginning, and the things around the room that hold the most interest for her are those with a lot of contrast - book spines, cushion patterns, etc. I'm not going to go out and buy a pile of those contrast books but the one we have has been jolly useful for keeping her attention during nappy time, etc, and it's good for eye development from an early age.

Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions for books for later, not now, as my original post stated. I want to have a decent collection here for when she's ready to read to/with since she's our first child and we have very few books thus far.
