First book is called The Curse of the Mistwraith.

The language can feel a bit archaic and dense, so I'm told (I have no trouble but I tend to like the use of big words), but the story is great and the characters not the archetypes we're so used to.

You should read the post I'm about to make. It's her guest post on a blog and is about the inspiration for writing this series. Really very interesting, I think.
