Nor was the resistance symbolized by a circle, IIRC. And parents didn't play much of a role in the Tripod series, since the resistance was mostly runaways.

Plus like you said, no scary rats, milk wasn't rare, etc.



I love the Tripod series though. I read it quite a few times growing up.
