View original postIf you think the subject matter would especially interest her but not the plowing through Old French, bilingual editions are easy to find.
I saw a copy on Amazon with the Old French on one page, and modern French on the opposite - so I'll probably get that one for her.
She'll probably just be overjoyed that I thought to get her a book in any variant of French in the first place, though.

The lai I previously read in the Old French textbook had different spelling.

It would be li gupils/le gupil, most likely (with the plural inverted)
