I think it's been too long to make it very widely anticipated anymore. I look forward to it though. Legolas Send a noteboard - 19/10/2013 11:55:43 AM

View original postI'm stunned to see that there hasn't been a review (or even discussion thread) for this book yet. Am I making things up, or was Republic of Thieves not a highly anticipated book?

We did actually have rereads/discussions of Lies of Locke Lamora and Red Seas under Red Skies in preparation for the release of Republic of Thieves, although the participation was quite limited sadly (do feel free to reopen those threads if you like).

Personally I liked but wasn't thrilled by my reread of Lies, but then went on for the first time to read Red Seas, and liked it rather more, so that did whet my appetite for the new book. I guess I'll buy it then!

View original postFor my part, I really enjoyed it. While it doesn't feature the fast-paced action of The Lies of Locke Lamora or Red Seas Under Red Skies, I found that the humor was excellent and the political intrigue fun...but what really drove this book was Sabetha. Unwrapping the layers of her relationship with Locke was a great deal of fun, in both timelines, and made for some good tension throughout the book.

That's what people were looking forward to most in the book, I think, after all the (in my opinion somewhat over-dramatic) references to Sabetha in the first two books without ever seeing her. Good to hear that it delivers on that.
