Mostly finishing out yearly goals Larry Send a noteboard - 02/12/2013 08:46:28 AM

Only 14 more books to reach my January goal of 366 for the year. Only one more Italian-language book to read (probably a Premio Strega winner, like Dino Buzzati's Sessanta Racconti). Six more French books to read (alternating between French feminists and fabulists for the alliterative value, perhaps?). Eight more Portuguese-language books to read (perhaps re-reading some Saramago). And maybe the odd German book or two, since I plan on working in 2014 on improving my reading comprehension in German to the level it used to be in 1996-1997 when I was in grad school.

1000 years ago this month, England fell to Sweyn Forkbeard. What were they reading then? And now? - 02/12/2013 08:43:21 AM 628 Views

Still reading the Septuagint. It's rather long, I've noticed. - 02/12/2013 05:20:07 PM 534 Views
