So Arya was supposed to be 16 or 17 by this point. This was going to be her first chapter in the post-five year gap version of ADWD, which raises it from being distressing to merely "eurgh".

Whether GRRM is going to tone it down to reflect the fact that Arya is still only 11 or 12 is apparently undecided; this isn't the final version of the chapter.
The chapter makes it clear Arya still isn't a maiden. She's clearly depicted as a scrawny kid yet, not a woman of 16 or 17.
