I think that it was the best written of the three, but the subject matter was a bit frivolous, so I still think that For Whom the Bell Tolls is his masterpiece. If I had to rate the three I read, though, I would rate them in the order:

  1. The Sun Also Rises
  2. A Farewell to Arms
  3. For Whom the Bell Tolls
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
