True but the book also was hinting around that mantle bestowing a great deal less physical than was previously assumed, obviously 'broken back' is more then just pain diminished and wasn't fixed in Cold Days, so I'd assume it is either healed in whole or part already by his wizardly nature or maybe just the mantle prioritizes what to keep functional when drained which would also make sense I suppose.
