I liked the first one (at the end) a lot. Started the second one as well... everynametaken Send a noteboard - 07/08/2014 08:12:54 PM

I tried the Mistborn series and couldn't get through the first book. I thought it was interesting. The characters weren't bad and the story wasn't bad, but it just didn't draw me in enough to keep going. So, when somebody gave me the audiobook of the first Stormlight book (I listen to audiobooks all day at work), I figured ok, what the hay?
It was long of course, but at the end it really came together pretty well and I was ready to hear more. I started listening to the second book when it came out, but I haven't continued because I kind of got on a horror kick and have been going back and revisiting some of my childhood favorites and exploring new authors.
But, about an hour or two into Volume 2 (maybe a 150 pages or so), hope you have a change of underwear ready. It was frankly one of the quickest, most shocking changes I have read in a fiction book. Totally unexpected. Hee, hee...
