Well reading cryptamonicon about 1/3 through it now I think ... not finding it as good. The science/philosophy seems more forced and less naturally part of the story. One of the good things about anthem is it made sense for the people to be standing around talking about ideas. Doesn't seem to as much here. Also as a believer in patent/copyright and natural rights to intellectual property the idea of a data haven is abhorrent to me.

Still writing is good and style of writing matches the character whose point of view he is writing in which is nice and hard to pull off. Will be interesting to see how this relates to the baroque cycle.
