I'm enjoying it. It reminds me of the way that people used to write popular magazines, back in the days when they chain-smoked while pounding out stories on a typewriter. Rolling Stone in the 1970s, Hunter S. Thompson, that sort of thing. It wasn't that long ago, but the loss of literary skill is palpable between when Wolfe wrote his book and today. That's sad.
