However, back when I was in high school, a friend urged me to read the newly released Eragon. I was new to the fantasy genre and he was heaping praise on it, so I checked it out from the library. I read the first couple of pages,decided it wasn't worth my time, buried it under all the crud in my backpack, and forgot about it. Ended up paying the price of the book in fines at the end of the year because of my forgetting about it...
