When I was at the huge law firms I only read on the commute to and from work at most, and hardly ever on the weekends, but that was because they try to get blood from stones. Calculate how many hours you have to bill per week to have a comfortable lifestlye at different hourly rates, and realize that when you have your own practice you can't fill it up too much or you might be overloaded some weeks and not be able to meet your obligations, and you see that it's not so bad.
