interesting. books by little known authors? temeraire Send a noteboard - 26/10/2009 04:49:48 AM
i understand. i'm trying really hard to read gardens of the moon, which is the first book in the erikson series, and i just can't make it cohesive enough for me to actually like it. it's not like i can't remember all the characters, or whatever, it's that there's never enough story in a row to make anything worth getting invested in. it's like he punishes you for starting to give a crap about the story by changing to something completely new the moment it gets slightly coherent/interesting. it's incredibly annoying. it's incredibly popular, and so many people like it, but i'm thinking about ditching the book, and i read through just about everything.

so, unknown underappreciated authors... hm. linda jaivin, an aussie author who wrote a cool book called "eat me," arundhati roy wrote a book whose name i can't remember, but it's cool... and now i can't remember any of the others. i read anything i can get my hands on and i always have, so it adds up, and right now i'm watching the venture bros. and not thinking about books...
"it's like the real world, except there's dragons!"

cw, you are missed...
