There's a very nice short story by Brandon on the Tor website AgentOrange Send a noteboard - 01/09/2009 12:26:17 PM
It's called Firstborn. I found myself liking the action and characters quite a bit, which isn't easy for 28 pages.
You can also get it as an audiobooklet which Brandon narrates himself ;)
