But the Other Fiction does seem to be somewhat of a temporary addition to this MB. The main idea for readandfindout was to focus on SFF. Plans do change though.

Well, it is. But who knows how long that will be. ;)

We could do an Other Fiction book, and we'd probably have good participation, particularly among people who aren't as into SFF as the rest of us. But I don't think we should do Other Fiction too often.

We won't. :)

True. But that just feels more like something we'd do after the Book Club is a more established feature of the site.

The thing is that by far the majority of people are from the old site, so the Book Club isn't a completely foreign idea. I'd like to trial things early so that we can sort them out sooner.

I'm sure it is. Just offering my opinion, for what it's worth. I've been very pleased with how this site has been managed so far, and with this MB in particular. I just think that we should concentrate on SFF for now, and branch out later.

Thanks, that's really great to hear. :)

Gah, upon previewing I noticed this can sound very condescending. I did not mean it that way. I was just offering my opinion, but at the same time, I know how annoying it is to be in charge of something and work hard on it, and have an outsider talk like they can do a better job. I'd prefer to do an SFF Book Club. But if you think we need to do an Other Fiction Book Club to get participants that we normally wouldn't have (those snobbish types ;)), that's fine too.

Heh, no worries.

Stay tuned for the Big Announcement of my Oarsome Plan tomorrow!
