I really enjoy these books -- I didn't think much of them at first, I was more reading as a matter of convenience, but as I read more the characters and Harris' style really began to grow on me. I've since also read some of Harris' other books and enjoyed them too because of her style.

I saw the tv show before reading the books, and my view of the books may be biased because of it. I prefer the way how the characters are portrayed in the show to their portrayal in the books, especially Anna Paquin's Sookie to the original. This is also the main reason why I'm not going to read the third book until after I've seen season 3, I don't want it to spoil the show for me.

The first book was mediocre. I enjoyed the HBO show much more. *NM* - 24/12/2009 03:32:56 PM 247 Views
