For the Sci-Fi & Fantasy book club we'll read Magician by Raymond E Feist. The book club discussion for this will open on Monday 18 January.

The Other Literature book club choice is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Discussion will begin on Monday 25 January.

Thank you for your submissions and your votes. Enjoy the read!

hey! I've read both books more times than I've watched star wars (uhm...or at least 14 times each) can I participate too? I loved magician (by the way which will we be discussing? apprentice or master? and are silverthorn and a darkness at sethanon included in the discussion?)

did you ask old thrashbarg what ineffable means? moondog - 23/12/2009 04:54:40 AM 1033 Views
Meh. I'll probably still read The Master and Margarita. No interest in these. *NM* Ghavrel - 18/12/2009 10:35:30 PM 477 Views
Have you already read them Ghavrel? I am just being curious. Tashmere - 19/12/2009 12:21:18 AM 968 Views
No, but I don't have a lot of time for reading. So I have to make choices. Ghavrel - 21/12/2009 01:24:44 AM 1097 Views
I could go for reading Feist again. It has been so many years since my husband got me to try it. Tashmere - 19/12/2009 12:18:17 AM 1117 Views
I've never taken part in the book club Mjolner - 20/12/2009 06:47:30 AM 1079 Views
This one is a full book discussion. *NM* Jacob - 21/12/2009 04:30:50 PM 469 Views
Hey, I actually have the Count of Monte Cristo! Darth_Katie - 20/12/2009 06:51:46 AM 949 Views
Just to be clear, does Magician refer to vol 1 or both? BlackAdder - 20/12/2009 11:36:52 PM 1029 Views
Well, to be accurate, MAGICIAN is only really 1 book. It was split into two volumes for a printing. Jacob - 21/12/2009 04:32:55 PM 954 Views
I bought it as a single volume back in 96, I believe. jh - 21/12/2009 04:46:03 PM 999 Views
Well, the one I have in two volumes has the same "preferred edition" label, too. BlackAdder - 21/12/2009 10:08:57 PM 962 Views
That refers to the content... Feist put out a "director's cut" Jacob - 22/12/2009 02:48:59 PM 994 Views
That is the version I read. At the time I couldn't imagine what they would have edited out of it Tashmere - 23/12/2009 03:32:47 AM 900 Views
As far as I know it was oridanally published as a single volume hardback Mark - 04/01/2010 04:43:33 PM 941 Views
Thanks BlackAdder - 21/12/2009 10:07:31 PM 997 Views
A suggestion Knightscape - 25/12/2009 10:57:36 AM 1148 Views
I'd be more interested in seeing us try to inform Dumas of his selection. *NM* Tom - 25/12/2009 05:07:42 PM 414 Views
Look here, I got the black candles already! *NM* jh - 25/12/2009 08:07:02 PM 410 Views
I have no interest in the first choice but will be pulling Dumas off the shelf shortly. Tom - 25/12/2009 05:08:25 PM 933 Views
I've read them both. Good choices. *NM* AgentOrange - 26/12/2009 01:39:49 AM 424 Views
My suggestion WON? Wow... Will be there for the Dumas... Definitely uninterested in the Feast. *NM* fionwe1987 - 28/12/2009 03:12:45 AM 449 Views
That's FEIST and so far it's rather "meh" anyway. *NM* BlackAdder - 28/12/2009 06:08:00 AM 482 Views
Just finished part one... it gets more interesting now. *NM* BlackAdder - 02/01/2010 09:53:53 PM 417 Views
