and not participate this time, due to lack of interest and time.
Not interested in this book.
Interested, but lacking time. I presume that it's not the butchered children/young adult version, yes?
I've no time for the big book. My vacation will only be about one week long (i.e. time for reading books) and I've already planned to read Pandora's Star, another not-so-thin-book.
But I will be glad to see your discussion on this one and perhaps I'll remember enough to be able to give a comment or two...
None of the books I voted for won.
I hope I'll be able to participate next time.
Happy reading!
For the Sci-Fi & Fantasy book club we'll read Magician by Raymond E Feist. The book club discussion for this will open on Monday 18 January.

The Other Literature book club choice is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Discussion will begin on Monday 25 January.

No, but I don't have a lot of time for reading. So I have to make choices.

Just to be clear, does Magician refer to vol 1 or both?
20/12/2009 11:36:52 PM

Well, to be accurate, MAGICIAN is only really 1 book. It was split into two volumes for a printing.
21/12/2009 04:32:55 PM

I bought it as a single volume back in 96, I believe.

Well, the one I have in two volumes has the same "preferred edition" label, too.

That refers to the content... Feist put out a "director's cut"

That is the version I read. At the time I couldn't imagine what they would have edited out of it

As far as I know it was oridanally published as a single volume hardback

I'd be more interested in seeing us try to inform Dumas of his selection. *NM*

I have no interest in the first choice but will be pulling Dumas off the shelf shortly.
