It is excessively geeky of me that I love knowing what typeset a book is published in? I check every single time. There are loads I have never heard of before.
Yes, it is excessively geeky of you. It's interesting trivia sometimes, but after the fourth paragraph of "and in 1806, Lord Henry Farkwaad decided that this font was just so pretty..." my eyes glaze over and I skip to something meatier.
do ebooks tell you the font that's been used?
Sometimes the font info is published, sometimes it's not. It pretty much depends on who the publisher is.
What little things about books (physical or otherwise) do you most enjoy?
Even though I prefer my Kindle just for ease of transportation, I love the feeling of anticipation I get when I pick up a very long book, just imagining all the places the author is going to take me.
Books in general.

I could care less about the smell, feel, or look of a book.

I have never noticed anything about font in any book. Now I will have to look. *NM*

I tend to prefer narrower and taller typefaces. They're more elegant and much easier on the eyes.

I loved the smell of old books. Provided they aren't moldy, anyway. *NM*
