and that a book that seems bad along the way can become good if the ending does something good with what had seemed bad. So yes. It makes no sense to me to judge a book based on someone not being able to finish it. Because I would always finish it.


...through 700 pages of drivel for the sake of a few pages of ending cannot be considered anything but bad writing (to me), or a bad experience.

Reading should be enjoyable, informative etc. If I am not enjoying a book after 200 pages, why oh why would I force myself to continue the pain for another 4-500 pages? It just makes no sense. But it makes perfect sense for me to judge that book based on my perceptions, not despite the fact I didn't finish it, but precisely because I didn't finish it.
