I had a hard time with the first 225 pages of LotR and Les Miserables. I was slogging. Tashmere Send a noteboard - 24/01/2010 09:50:34 PM
I remember coming to Wotmania after about 200 pages of both of those for a little advice on whether I should keep going or not since I was obviously not getting anything out of it. With both books there came a point (shortly after 200 pages) when the story finally kicked in for me and I was hooked until the end.

Sometimes the best things in life have a slow start. Relationships and books both. If you stick with it long enough the rewards surpass anything you ever imagined.

But boy is it hard to stick with sometimes. I won't pretend that I always took (or take) my own advice. I quit sometimes too.
