There's a lot of people who harp on the WoT, but continue to read the books. I think some people just like to complain about them. And with the public anonymity of the Internet, it's become a sort of perverse performance art.


Among the people who continue to read WoT, there are many who complained loudly about the dragging of the plotline in tPoD, WH and aCoT, that's for sure. But as far as I can tell, there aren't too many who keep reading while thinking the series as a whole is of questionable quality - they still like the early books, and Knife of Dreams got a very positive reception, Gathering Storm somewhat less because of the Sanderson switch, but still.
