but not until you said he his name. Torak was the bad guy? Keep in mind I was reading these as they came out in paperback and I don't believe I have reread them since. Though at one time I would have listed them at the top of my all time favorite books. I likedd the next series OK and hated the one after that.

I'm not sure which series in particular you're talking about. I read the Elenium and Tamuli before the Belgariad and Malloreon, actually, and as such still like them even if they aren't as good objectively, perhaps, and the penchant for extreme casual violence is sickening if you stop to think about it.

The ones after *that* I never even bothered to read, and have no particular interest to - I still enjoy rereading those four series, but a large part of that is pure nostalgia, I doubt I'd find them too great if I first read them now.
