Getting from Brüssels to Calais Edit: It's sorted Camilla Send a noteboard - 20/04/2010 09:46:41 PM
We were going to take a bus, but everyone else pulled out, so now we are back to the trains. Don't talk to me of planes, it is not going to happen. Trains it is. We have tickets from Rome to Geneve to Brüssels. The Eurostar is fully booked (even though their pages claim they are not), so we are going to Calais.

Does anyone know what train company we ought to book it through? A French one? A Belgian one? A Swiss one? (that was a joke)

Might I also add (I am considering adding this to the end of all my speeches, a bit like Cato on Carthage), a curse on train companies who do not update their pages and lead you on in false hope.

Edit: I am now on the train from London to Edinburgh after hefty train-trips via Géneve, Brüssels and the tunnel to London.

Thank you to all of those who helped. In the end I think we were saved by everyone else deciding to take the planes that started running. I am still waiting for one of those to fall out of the sky. Just so you know.

Well, the SNCF website is singularly unhelpful. - 20/04/2010 10:18:52 PM 837 Views
