It looks like it may be feasible to simply fly over there with my house on my back that weekend and afterward simply keep going to Norway. Even moving to Norway and then doing a round trip to Scotland for the weekend is showing about the same price at the online air travel places (for now. ) However, I can't go to Norway at all while my visa is pending, and it would be astoundingly stupid to fly to Scotland and back here, then drop another couple grand a few months later moving to Norway. Especially with a wedding on the horizon and uncertain employment prospects when I arrive. I can really only fly to Europe once this year, and while I very much hope that will include the Gathering, it's up to UDI now, and since we just had to file an appeal due to an (IMHO) specious rejection of my visa application, it doesn't look great.
