(Incidentally, if every country in the Eurozone had had a binding referendum before joining, I wonder how big it would be... How was public opinion in Belgium in 2000-1?)

As for Belgium I don't know, Holland only had a small majority that wanted the euro if I remember correctly.

As for my personal opinion, I was against back than (even though only 15, so not allowed to vote), but now that I travel more I'm very content with the ease of it.
