Lots of people here don't seem to realize that if the government pays for something, that's really them paying for it through their taxes. It's like the whole "university education should be free" thing, when the reality of the matter is that the ultra-low university fees are already, to quote a description someone once made, "a transfer of wealth from the entire society to the soon-to-be-richest members of society".
So the list of countries using the euro will grow longer, not shorter... Estonia to join in 2011
