Personally it's reminding me of that one Coupling episode which maybe you've seen, with the gay guy who against all expectations sides with the Tory in the political discussion, shocks everybody with "I cried when Portillo lost his seat!" and then points out to the lefties that "You're in power now, you're the Evil Empire!"
Obviously not all of this is joking, and your point that the Conservatives should be given a chance is definitely valid, I don't disagree with you, but I actually thought that Stephen Fry's comments on the election that were posted here as well were more exaggerating and deserving of a wake-up call (at least the part of his comments that was about the prospect of a Tory government, most of the article was about the voting system obviously) than the two humourous articles in this thread.
