I really do wish everyone I meet the best, even the people who give me crap or screw me over (though we may consider "the best" very different things) and I adore my friends. True friends are hard to find, sometimes almost impossible to find when things are tough, but I dearly love the people who remind me what friendship is all about, and try to be as good a friend to them. I'll do anything I can to help a real friend, because a few amazing people have shown me how priceless that is.

IMHO, caring about someone means the respect to expect they're willing and able to know the truth, even if one or both of us finds that unpleasant. I won't lie, and while I CAN prevaricate and mislead as well as the worst Aes Sedai, I try very hard not to do so, because truthful deceit is just dishonesty trying to give itself an escape clause. If I feel I shouldn't say something that's nonetheless true, I just won't say it, but anything I tell you will always be true.

As some may have noticed, when I have strong and truly committed feelings about something, no argument, threat or bribe, nor any power on Earth, can move me from that. I don't take strong positions lightly, so I don't abandon them lightly either. If I'm on your side, I'm on your side until the Bolivian Army guns down both of us.
