but honestly, you should have at least a couple semesters' worth of mathematical proofs and logic to get some benefit from reading it. i had the background when i took the class the book is from and i had to drop it because i didn't have enough math proofs background to succeed. 
it's incredibly interesting stuff, but you should work your way up to it, imho.
