most laptops don't have more than a 1 year warranty.

What is your brand and model?


I'm pretty sure there is a legal minimum of a 3 year warranty here if you can reasonably expect a product to last that long. Home electronics are covered by it, so it might be an idea to look into local laws for germany before doing sometihng which might void the warranty.
