Dido's Lament by Henry Purcell. Tim Send a noteboard - 07/06/2010 11:34:37 PM
It's baroque, it's mournful, it's in G minor, and it's addressed to Dido's lover Aeneas (covering "romantic" with a small r – finding a piece that's both Baroque and Romantic is of course impossible).

Will that do?

When I am laid, am laid in earth, May my wrongs create
No trouble, no trouble in thy breast;
Remember me, remember me, but ah! forget my fate.
Remember me, but ah! forget my fate.

I know nothing of keys, and it's definitely not baroque. - 10/06/2010 03:26:00 AM 500 Views
