most laptops don't have more than a 1 year warranty.

What is your brand and model?

Now I am not so sure anymore, though...lol

It's a HP Pavilion dv7-1140eg Entertainment Notebook-PC


Heh. I work on the HP dv7 almost every day. I work at a service center repairing laptops, on the HP manufacturer's warranty line.
