I know there is the whole "never let a good crisis go to waste" mindset these days but this about more then political opportunity. Yes a lot of people were laid off in financial market (though if I remember right they were bailed out) but that really isn't the same thing that is going on here. This isn't just people getting laid off, it is entire communities being at risk because of a man made disaster in the gulf. It is an entire way of life and culture that is at risk.
