You know say something like "hey that is sure looks like a lot of oil you have spewing into the gulf. Would you mind telling me your plans for cleaning it up?"

Maybe he could have suggested they start readying all of the containment strategies instead of pull them out one at time as they failed. If nothing else he might not be so clueless about whose ass to kick.
