My Gizmo had to be put down last December. I still miss his wonderful blue eyes. My other cat Hänsel is a little comfort, as well as Jantar. I got the latter from the animal shelter just before Christmas so Hänsel won't be alone while I'm at work. But somehow they are all special everytime I have to let one go it makes me terribly sad.
I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when
there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.

I'm sorry to hear that. Losing my cat when I was younger was like losing part of the family.
