But I imagine it is something along the lines of
Bacon.
Sausages.
Fried potatoes
Baked Beans
Eggs in various forms
worcestershire sauce.

That's more or less a guess. Try googling it.

Normally Brown or Tomato sauce. A lot people will have grilled or tinned tomatoes. Fried mushrooms are also common, as is toast or fried bread alongside it. Uhmmm, in the north you'll often get black pudding as well, and in Scotland there's often some fried haggis.
I think that list is about it though. If you're buying one from a cafe or whatever, there's usually different "degrees" of English breakfast, with a growing list of items. I would say the absolute basic is eggs, bacon and toast, but I'm sure some would disagree.
I am sure I'm missing something, but I can't think what.
Also I find it interesting that you consider eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast "continental". Over here it usually means assorted croissants, confitures, breads, cold meats, cheeses etc.
it IS a big breakfast then

as for the continental mistake, blame it on local hotel menus, I suppose it's because over there continental means european, while over here continental means of the americas
