You might want to look up passive-aggressive. nossy Send a noteboard - 16/07/2010 05:32:07 PM

I've never been in favor of divorce, and I have not now nor have ever stated that I support so-called frivolous marriages. In fact, I've come out her against both divorce and allowing just anyone anytime to be married, because I do not (and no one else does) view it as a RIGHT, but a privilege. But that's beside the point. Marriage is not a right, regardless of my views of it.

It is a right, regardless of your views on it. The government cannot tell two heteros that they cannot marry, unless there is some legal reason. And as it is the purpose of a modern, civil government to ensure that subsets of its people are not being forbidden things unjustly, the laws will eventually change. *shrug*

If you're talking about Catholic marriage, then yes, you are correct that it is not a right. But I have news for you-- infidels are getting married left and right, dear. You're losing the high ground on which ones you can forbid which things (legally speaking).

It changes the traditional definition of marriage, which is between a man and a woman. So how is marriage not being changed?

Changes the religious definition of marriage, which is not the same thing as what the legal definition will shape up to be. But again, we won't agree, so we really don't need to keep harping on it.

And you can talk all you like about not being "rude" but your passive aggressive language betrays your true intent.

Kiddo, it's not passive aggressive at all to tell someone that while you don't intend to be rude, you will be honest about your true feelings. I told you exactly what I think, and I'm sorry if that puts you in an uncomfortable position with me. I wasn't going to lie, however.
