'Magazine' - in English as well, I think, right? - really means or used to mean or also mean, uh. . . well it just means it's about ONE subject, right?, like your typical weekly magazines are, hence the name. It could just as easily be radio or TV or whatever, though. So a Tour de France magazine wouldn't be the actual race, right, just, y'know.
