While the woman's complaint was that the guy was an Arab, apparently the legal testimony hinged on the fact that he claimed he was single.

Doesn't make it much less stupid but it does make it a bit less racist.

Only one other person in Israel has been charged under this crime and he was Jewish. He was pretending to be a government administrator claiming he could help women with housing issues if they put out. He's doing ten years.
