Is that really all you have to say about that article?

1. "Alright" and "all right" do not mean the same thing. "Alright" means "satisfactory", and "all right" means that every one of something is correct. "The student's answers were alright" and "The student's answers were all right" are two very different propositions. Therefore, it is logical to spell them differently. You may not like neologisms, but when they reduce ambiguity and aid communication, it's hard to argue against them.
2. "Alright" dates back to the 12th century (with a slightly different meaning of "exactly"), and to the 19th century in its current meaning. It's right there in the OED. If you think 1900 is the cut-off point for language development, then you're going to have a very hard time communicating as the 21st century progresses.
3. Why not apply that powerful brain of yours to analysing the content of the article, instead of perpetuating the mindless dogma of badly taught high-school English classes?
Apologies for my belligerent tone – I just hate seeing so much talent wasted.

—Nous disons en allemand : le guerre, le mort, le lune, alors que 'soleil' et 'amour' sont du sexe féminin : la soleil, la amour. La vie est neutre.
—La vie ? Neutre ? C'est très joli, et surtout très logique.

It's a shame forum posts don't have "Sent from my iPhone" at the bottom like e-mails do.
