Run a survey, and just like with racism or sexism the number listed will be lower than reality even if you repeat that the results are anonymous fifty times. If you think most people like gays, well, you may be right, certainly the dislike and hate have died back a lot, I mentioned as much, but I really doubt it. You might be mistaking what I mean by dislike though, 'vague feeling of discomfort and/or wrongness' is included in that. Last I checked fag and gay are still regularly used as insults, of course so is blond and fat, neither group is particularly hated. Regardless, I am older than you I believe and come from a rural area, so my generation may be a bit behind the times, so to speak, but I don't turn thirty for two more months and the median age is 35, with only half of that younger half legally able to vote and only about a quarter of those bothering to so I'd guess my original assertion is true and certainly true if we modified 'most people' to be 'most voters'
