the general idea that different views on family and marriage that come from a more "Traditional" upbringing versus a more "Now" upbringing are a huge factor in the debate on homosexual marriage.

Frankly, people should argue more from that standpoint even if it doesn't necessarily hold great water. it's still a better argument than "the bible says X".
