Problems I had with my BlackBerry:
1. It took hours to set up my e-mail accounts properly and I had to log on to a special webpage to be able to do it. Even then, I had to "re-set" it about three times because of glitches. My iPhone immediately figured out how to interact with my servers by just pulling the info from Outlook.
2. I tried to get international capability and it was a disaster. First I had to search - on obscure forums - for where the Russian-language keyboard application was. Then I had to install it and the whole keyboard was shifted over one letter from where it should have been (instead of typing the letters at A S D F, it typed S where A should be and then D and F, and A was in a different spot altogether). Shifting from one keyboard to another required that I hit two keys at once and then use the "Ood wheel" (that's what I liked to call it because I'm a Doctor Who fan) to pick the right keyboard. It had no Chinese capability. The iPhone had international keyboards out of the box and I all I had to do was go to Settings and select "Add Keyboard" to activate one.
3. Applications were unwieldy and often located in weird spots. Re-arranging things was difficult and a pain in the ass. Finding applications was difficult. The iPhone, by contrast, has all the apps easily accessible.
BlackBerry had its day but that's over. Remember Palm Pilot? No, neither do I.

Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.

Consumers agree. Last quarter was the first in a long time that anyone outsold BB for smartphones.

It's in a junk drawer. I suspect it may end up in the garbage, though.

You'd think something like this would be tailormade for something called "Desire. "
