(That's almost a direct quote, mind you...) She then punched my arm, hugged me, and said she didn't like me quite like that, but that if I ever tried to stop being her friend she'd hunt me down and kill me. (I believe her! )



Honey, no. Flirting is flirting is flirting. It depends on who you are flirting with, not their gender. The woman I mentioned above is more of a "guy" than most of the men I know... flirting with her requires a bit more bluntness and allows some crassness. I know a cute, scrawny little twink boy who I flirt with regularly... I don't think anything could come of it, but he's cute and it's fun to make him blush. There I dial back the directness, and definitely tone down the crass talk.

You have to judge your flirt based on the target of said flirtation, not on their genitalia. Even if that is your end goal.



Yep... if you're open and honest about it, and both are willing to be mature about dealing with it. Honesty and maturity are what will keep your friendship together.
