Be prepared for small children. Do not kill them. Do not shove them over the rail. I know school just started and they should all be there, but they won't be. They will be everywhere you want to be, at all times, screaming.

Everyone will want to take your picture. There will be picture stations set up all over before dinner so you can get Glamor Shots, and there will be a guy with a camera every time you get off the boat. They will then try to sell them back to you for a trillion dollars.
I didn't do the Captain's dinners, so I can't help there. I wouldn't bother to bring my own snorkel. All the ones I saw had like disposable plastic wrap on them so you weren't actually licking other people's mouth germs.
