It's hard enough to find someone who will be respectful to you and of you, share some of your interests, be compatible with personality, be someone you can trust, etc etc etc without putting a nationality on it. Whether you're trying to find a german guy in the US or you're trying to find a german guy to have a long-distance relationship with, try looking for the other stuff first.

Or... don't look. It's when I was finally not looking that I found my husband. I had decided that I would be lonely for the rest of my life and had become OK with that. I'd rather be alone than in a meaningless shallow relationship. Voila! Into my life came this awesome guy who eventually became my husband.
